The Taranaki Community Stadium Trust is working hard to raise up to $85,000 for an urgently needed Accessibility Pathway at the TET Stadium and Events Centre. This pathway, which has the backing of the Age and Accessibility Working Group at the New Plymouth District Council, will provide safer and easier access to the grandstand for all visitors. It will benefit elderly spectators, disabled, para-athletes, young families with strollers, and even emergency services by ensuring a safe and accessible route. Thanks to a generous $30,000 grant from NPDC and over $2,800 raised through our Christmas Night Market, we’re off to a great start! Upcoming fundraisers include events at the Inglewood 150 Jubilee, with more initiatives in progress to help us reach our goal. With several declined funding applications for this project, we are asking the community for their support. Keep checking back to see how you can support this vital project, and don’t forget to check out the photos showcasing the proposed pathway and the repairs needed to create a safer surface for everyone. Together, we can make this project a reality by June 1st 2025
