The Home of IURFC & Taranaki Athletics

The Home For Taranaki Athletics Since 1997

TET Stadium & Events Centre

In 1985, the Taranaki Centre Amateur Athletics Association set up the Taranaki Community Stadium Trust for the purpose of raising funds to build an all-weather athletic track in New Plymouth. The track and complex project was considered by the New Plymouth District Council in late 1997, and after reviewing several possible locations work began on the complex at Jubilee Park in Inglewood, the traditional home for Athletics in Taranaki. The project was the result of the vision of Olympic athlete Norman Read and many individuals. Clubs and local businesses gave time and energy to the project which took 15 years from conception to completion.

The TET Stadium & Event Centre was the first place in New Zealand to have an Olympic class 400m Mondo track installed. Since then the venue has enjoyed patronage from Inglewood United Rugby Football Club and Egmont, Inglewood and Taranaki Athletics. The Stadium has drawn big sporting events like North Island Colgate Games, NZSSA, FIFA U20 Football World Cup, Ranfurly Shield matches, NPC Rugby games and now is the home of the Cancer Societies Relay For Life.
