Changing Rooms Project

Changing Rooms Project

Coming soon to Carnival Park, Inglewood

TET Stadium Changing Rooms Project

The Taranaki Community Stadium Trust is thrilled to announce we’ve received significant funding from the Taranaki Electricity Trust (TET) towards the new Changing Rooms Project on our neighbouring fields, Carnival Park, Inglewood.

This is a major step forward for a project that’s been in development for the past two years. Working alongside Shedex and Gareth from Paradigm Studios, we’ve refined a design that is built to last and kept simple, while delivering what our community needs most.

About the project

Carnival Park, located right next door to the TET Stadium and Events Centre, hosts dozens of bookings every year for school athletics, community sport, and regional competitions and events. Despite this, the fields currently have only one toilet and no shelter. The new facility will include four changing rooms, an open breakout space, and additional storage, creating a safer, more functional space for players, referees, coaches, officials and volunteers.

Together, TET Stadium and Carnival Park make up one of only a handful of facilities in New Zealand that feature an all-weather athletics track, covered grandstand, modern event centre, and five surrounding playing fields. This unique combination allows us to host large-scale events such as the Colgate Games, Rugby League tournaments, and the upcoming New Zealand Pipe Band Championships. Adding this new facility on Carnival Park will open the door to hosting even more regional and national events in the future.

With the continued growth of women’s sport and the need to ensure everyone is accommodated and feels safe, this project is a vital investment in the future of local sport and community participation.

The changing rooms will serve a wide range of local groups, including Inglewood United Rugby & Netball Club, Athletics Taranaki, North Taranaki Touch, Taranaki Rugby Football Union, Inglewood Pony Club and many others. The facilities will also support visiting teams, schools, and regional events – ensuring our facility remains a true hub for the Taranaki community.

While this funding marks a huge step forward, there’s still more to raise over the coming months to complete the project. Do you want to get involved? We’re actively seeking sponsorship and support to help bring this project to life – please get in touch if you’d like to play a part in building the future of our community.

The Trust extends its sincere thanks to TET for their ongoing support of community sport and for backing our shared vision for Carnival Park.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses. Want to support this community facility? Contact us below.
